Yaoki · Effective 8 September 2026
English · 日本語 · All policies
Yaoki is a step-streak tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains exactly what the app reads, where it is kept, and who can see it.
With your permission, Yaoki reads the following from Apple Health. All of it is read-only — Yaoki never writes anything back to Health.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Step count | Counts your daily total and decides whether a day extends your streak |
| Walking + running distance | Shown as today's distance |
| Exercise minutes | Shown as today's active minutes |
| Active energy | Shown as today's energy |
| Flights climbed | Shown as today's flights climbed |
On iPhone, the home-screen and lock-screen widgets also use Motion & Fitness (the device's pedometer) to show today's step count without having to wake the app. That reading stays on the device.
Yaoki does not ask for, and cannot see, your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or any health data beyond the types listed above.
On your device. Your step totals, daily goal, rest days, per-day edits, and app settings are stored in a private container on the device, shared only between Yaoki, its widgets, and its Apple Watch app.
In your own iCloud account. So that your setup survives a new phone, a small amount of data is backed up to Apple's iCloud key-value storage under your own Apple Account:
Your step counts and other Health data are deliberately excluded from this backup. Health already stores them, and they are never copied to iCloud by Yaoki.
This backup lives in your iCloud account, not the developer's. The developer has no access to it.
On your Apple Watch. The iPhone sends the watch two numbers — your daily goal and your current streak — so the watch app and complications can display them.
Yaoki contains no networking code. It cannot transmit your information anywhere, because it has nowhere to transmit it to.
As required by Apple's rules for apps that use HealthKit: health and fitness data read by Yaoki is used solely to display your activity and to calculate your streak inside the app. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never used for data mining, and never disclosed to third parties.
The optional reminder ("nudge me if a run is at risk") is generated on your device by iOS and delivered locally. There is no push server, and no notification content is sent over the internet.
Yaoki is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
